Statement of Faith
Raintree Village
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. The Bible is our supreme authority and is entirely trustworthy for faith and conduct (Matthew 5:17-18, II Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe there is one God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, eternally existent in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Ephesians 4:4-6; Matthew 28:18-20).
We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. Jesus was the perfect Son of God who was revealed in the flesh through the virgin birth and lived a sinless life (Matthew 1:20-23, Philippians 2:5-8).
We believe that God is the Creator of all life, including the unborn; and as unique individuals we each have great value in His sight (Psalms 139:13-14, Jeremiah 1:5).
We believe all people have value and dignity because we are created in the image of God. God’s desire is for us to have fellowship with Him, yet we become alienated because of our sinful disobedience. Sin separates us from God and makes us subject to His divine judgement and wrath (Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 5:12; Genesis 1:26-27).
We believe we are redeemed by Jesus atoning death on the cross through His shed blood and resurrection from the grave. Mankind is justified by God’s grace through obedient faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world (Colossians 1:13-14; Romans 3:24-25; John 3:16)
We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within the hearts of those who have come to know Him in repentance, and found salvation through obedient faith and baptism, reconciliation with God, and obedience to His Word (Romans 8:9, Luke 13:3; Acts 22:16; Revelation 2:10).
We believe God perfectly designed marriage to be between man and woman, united in a life-long covenant relationship. He calls Christians to a life of sexual purity both inside and outside of marriage (Matthew 19:4-6; Genesis 2:22-24; I Thessalonians 4:3-8).
We believe the Church is comprised of the body of Christ; therefore, Christians are endowed with proclaiming the gospel, promoting love and justice, and making an impact for good in the world (Romans 12:4-8; John 13:34; Matthew 28:18-20).
We believe that Jesus will return in power and great glory to raise both the living and the dead to judgement. He will bring eternal life to the redeemed and everlasting condemnation to the lost (John 5:28-29; II Timothy 4:1).
