Statement of Faith
As a faith-based organization, Raintree Village’s Board Members and Staff commit to the following Biblical principles. Each statement guides our mission and conduct—individually and collectively.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It shows God as the supreme authority and is entirely trustworthy for building faith and guiding conduct (Matthew 5:17-18; II Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:1-16).
We believe there is one God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, eternally existent in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Ephesians 4:4-6; Matthew 28:18-20; John 1:1-5).
We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. Jesus was the perfect Son of God who was revealed in the flesh through the virgin birth and lived a sinless life (Matthew 1:20-23; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 9:11-15).
We believe that God is the Creator of all life—including the unborn—and as unique individuals we each have great value in His sight (Genesis 1:1-31; Psalms 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5).
We believe all people have value and dignity because we are created in the image of God. God’s desire is for us to have fellowship with Him, yet we become alienated because of our sinful disobedience. Sin separates us from God and makes us subject to His divine judgement and wrath (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:13-19; Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 5:12).
We believe we are redeemed by Jesus’ atoning death on the cross through His shed blood and resurrection from the grave. Because of God’s love, mankind is justified by God’s grace through obedient faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-10; Colossians 1:13-14; Romans 3:24-25; Hebrews 9:26-28; I John 4:9-10)
We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within and empowers those who have been reconciled with God through obedient faith, repentance, and baptism (Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9-11; Luke 13:3; Acts 22:16; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 3:16-17a; I Corinthians 12:7-11).
We believe God perfectly designed marriage to be between man and woman, united in a life-long covenant relationship. He calls Christians to a life of sexual purity both inside and outside of marriage (Genesis 2:22-24; Matthew 19:4-6; I Thessalonians 4:3-8; I Corinthians 7:1-5; Ephesians 5:22-33).
We believe the Church represents the body of Christ on earth. Therefore, Christians are endowed with proclaiming the gospel, promoting love and justice, and making an impact for good in the world (I Corinthians 12:12-31; Romans 12:4-21; John 13:34-35; Matthew 28:18-20; I John 3:16-18; Galatians 2:20).
We believe that Jesus will return in power and great glory to raise both the living and the dead to judgement. He will bring eternal life to the redeemed and everlasting condemnation to the lost (Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:28-29; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; II Timothy 4:1; Revelation 21:1-4, 22:12-15).
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
