Behavioral Health

We believe one of the keys to guiding children and teens through difficult circumstances is providing effective behavioral health services on site.

Behavioral health refers to the connection between behaviors and the well-being of the body, mind, and spirit. It is an interdisciplinary field, often involving psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, and other healthcare providers who work together to provide comprehensive care aimed at improving an individual’s quality of life and overall health.

Our licensed counselors and therapists play a vital role in promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and positive behavior change among residents. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment where the kids can heal, grow, and thrive.

Here are five benefits of having licensed counselors and therapists for vulnerable youth at Raintree Village:

Individualized Mental Health Support

They provide personalized mental health assessments and therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each resident. This individualized approach allows for targeted interventions to address underlying issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, or behavioral challenges. They can cover conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health disorders.

Crisis Intervention and Emotional Regulation

We’ve seen firsthand how youth may experience emotional crises or outbursts due to past trauma or ongoing struggles. Our licensed counselors and therapists are trained to effectively manage crises, de-escalate volatile situations, and teach residents healthy coping skills to regulate their emotions and behaviors. These could also include strategies and treatments aimed at modifying harmful behaviors and habits, such as smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, and other lifestyle choices that negatively affect health.

Trauma-Informed Care

Many troubled youth who come to Raintree Village have experienced abuse, neglect, or loss, which can significantly impact their mental and emotional well-being. Our professional counselors are trained in trauma-informed care, which emphasizes understanding the effects of trauma on individuals and providing sensitive, supportive interventions to promote healing and resilience.

Skill-Building and Positive Reinforcement

Counselors and therapists can facilitate group therapy sessions and structured activities aimed at building essential life skills such as communication, problem-solving, anger management, and conflict resolution. Through positive reinforcement and encouragement, they can help youth develop healthy coping mechanisms and improve their self-esteem and confidence.

Collaboration and Continuity of Care

Our licensed professionals work collaboratively with other staff members, including social workers, case managers, and educators, to ensure a holistic approach to resident care. They can also coordinate with external mental health providers, family members, and community resources to establish continuity of care as youth transition back into their communities after leaving our group home.

Our goal in providing behavioral health services is to provide the resources and support needed for troubled youth to enhance and manage their mental and behavioral well-being.

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
